Bezienswaardigheden / tips Wolfeboro 2025:

1) Wolfeboro: Een van de oudste vakantieoorden van het land is Wolfeboro en is gelegen aan Lake Winnipesaukee. Het is een elegant stadje met zijn croquetclub en fraaie huizen met uitzicht op het meer. Varen, vissen en zwemmen bij warm weer maakt plaats voor ijsvissen en sneeuwscooteren in de winter. De natuurlijke schoonheid van Wolfeboro is het visitekaartje, maar er is veel meer in het gebied dan op het eerste gezicht lijkt, het heeft ook fascinerende musea. Wolfeboro staat ook vol met sierlijke historische gebouwen, waaronder enkele die open zijn voor het publiek. Wolfeboro heeft ook enkele stranden en is zeker een leuke vakantiebestemming. 

2) Stranden: Tussen Wolfeboro en Tuftonboro ligt binnen een afstand van 11 km (7,4 miles) 7 publieke stranden. Behalve het strand in Wentworth State Park zijn alle stranden vrij toegankelijk. Het meest aantrekkelijke strand is Albee strand aan Lake Wentworth. Lake Wentworth is kleiner en rustiger dan Lake Winnipesaukee en is een perfecte plek om te kajakken of een dag door te brengen op het prachtige strand van Albee. Het Albee strand is ideaal voor gezinnen.

3) Wright Museum of World War II: Bezoek het indrukwekkende Wright Museum of World War II waar je voertuigen, vele militaire objecten en het leven van de soldaten aan het front tijdens de Wereldoorlog kunt bekijken. Dit museum is dankzij de enthousiaste vrijwilligers opgezet. Een ticket voor een volwassenen kost $ 16,00. 

4) New Hampshire Boat Museum: Het New Hampshire Boat Museum is een educatieve organisatie die zich richt op het erfgoed van de boot en het leven op de meren en rivieren van New Hampshire. Bezoekers kunnen genieten van het zien van een verscheidenheid aan boten die in het museum te zien zijn. De tentoonstelling verandert jaarlijks. Bezoekers kunnen ook de sensatie ervaren van het varen in een vintage boot in NHBM's eigen replica Hacker Craft uit 1928. Een ticket voor een volwassenen kost $ 15,00. 

5) Libby Museum of Natural History: Het Libby Museum is een historisch natuur museum en werd in 1912 opgericht door Dr. Henry Libby en was het eerste museum in de staat dat uitsluitend gewijd was aan de natuurlijke geschiedenis. De collectie omvat specimens van planten, dieren, vogels en vissen, evenals mineralen. Het museum is geopend tussen juni en oktober. 

6) Great Waters Music Festival: Wolfeboro is de thuisbasis van het Great Waters Music Festival (juli en augustus) met folk-, jazz- en bluesartiesten op locaties door de hele stad. Het festival werd in 1995 opgericht om live muziek optredens van amateur en professionele muzikanten te promoten. Sinds het eerste festival, dat 325 bezoekers trok, is het nu uitgegroeid tot een publiek van meer dan 7.000 bezoekers.

7) Cate Park: In de zomerperiode kun je gratis concerten bijwonen in het mooie Cate Park aan de waterkant. De concerten vinden plaats op elke zaterdag vanaf 5 juli t/m 30 augustus 2025. Ondanks de concerten gratis zijn is elke donatie welkom zodat dit evenement elk jaar kan blijven plaatsvinden.  

8) Molly the Trolley: Ontdek Wolfeboro op de Molly the Trolley die diverse lokale rondleidingen aanbiedt. Een rondleiding duurt 45 minuten en een ticket voor een volwassenen kost $ 10,00.

1) Wolfeboro: One of the country’s oldest resort towns, Wolfeboro is located on Lake Winnipesaukee. It’s an elegant town with a croquet club and beautiful homes overlooking the lake. There is boating, fishing, and swimming in warm weather or ice fishing and snowmobiling during the winter period. Wolfeboro’s natural beauty is its calling card, but there’s much more to the area than meets the eye, including fascinating museums. Wolfeboro is also filled with ornate historic buildings, including several that are open to the public. Wolfeboro also has some beaches and is definitely a nice holiday destination.

2) Beaches: Between Wolfeboro and Tuftonboro, there are 7 public beaches within 7.4 miles (11 km). Except for the beach at Wentworth State Park, all beaches are free to access. The most attractive beach is Albee Beach on Lake Wentworth. Lake Wentworth is smaller and calmer than Lake Winnipesaukee and is a perfect place to kayak or spend a day on the beautiful Albee Beach. Albee Beach is also ideal for families.

3) Wright Museum of World War II: Visit the impressive Wright Museum of World War II where you can see vehicles, many military objects and the life of the soldiers at the front during the World War. This museum was set up thanks to the enthusiastic volunteers. An adult ticket costs $ 16.00. 

4) New Hampshire Boat Museum: The New Hampshire Boat Museum is an educational organization dedicated to boating heritage and life on the lakes and rivers of New Hampshire. Visitors can enjoy seeing a variety of boats on display at the museum. The exhibit changes annually. Visitors can also experience the thrill of sailing in a vintage boat in NHBM's own replica 1928 Hacker Craft. An adult ticket costs $15.00. 

5) Libby Museum of Natural History: The Libby Museum is a historical natural history museum founded in 1912 by Dr. Henry Libby and was the first museum in the state devoted exclusively to natural history. The collection includes specimens of plants, animals, birds and fish, as well as minerals. The museum is open between June and October. 

6) Great Waters Music Festival: Wolfeboro is home to the Great Waters Music Festival (Jul & Aug) featuring folk, jazz and blues artists at venues throughout town. The festival was founded in 1995 to promote live music performances by amateur and professional musicians. Since the first festival, which attracted 325 visitors, it has now grown to an audience of over 7,000. 

7) Cate Park: During the summer months you can attend free concerts in the beautiful Cate Park on the waterfront. The concerts take place every Saturday from July 5 to August 30, 2025. Although the concerts are free, every donation is welcome so that this event can continue to take place every year.

8) Molly the Trolley: Explore Wolfeboro on Molly the Trolley which offers a variety of local tours. A tour lasts 45 minutes and an adult ticket costs $10.00.
